Master Cleanse

So I'm restarting the master cleanse tomorrow...

I did a modified Ease-In over the last 3 days...

I have my Senna tea ready to go...

I was planning on doing the MC for a total of 21/28 days... but I don't know if I'll be able to handle that seeing as I stand almost all day at work... which burns a lot of calories...

I don't wanna just faint randomly... that wouldn't be a good look...

I think I'm going to modify the master cleanse a little bit...

I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the liquid diet for the first 7 days... at least....

Then I might switch into just fruits and raw and some cooked vegetables for the next 2 weeks...

No snacks, all water...

I'm sure I can do this...

It is partially to kick start weight loss...

I mean I love me and all but I am starting tot see myself go down a path from which I may not soon be able to return...

So hopefully I'll be able to shed some pounds and reset my body/ mind not to crave sweets/food as much...

Also, understand the difference between boredom and hunger...

If it takes 21 days to break a habit, that's what I'm aiming for...

I also plan to use this diet as a fast, in order to cleanse my mind and draw closer to the Lord...

I need to humble myself and seek him, to build my relationship as I feel I am slipping from his grasp...

I may end up doing the MC continuously for the entire 3/4 weeks...

Maybe not...

I'm also joining a gym...

Cause I wanna be STACKED!!!!

Lipstick Swatches

So I ordered quite a few lipsticks and a few glosses from CherryCulture when they were having their Thanksgiving Sale... where everything was an additional 20% off...

So of course I looked for swatches of these lipsticks online... so I could see what I was potentially getting myself into... and of course there were none for most of the lippies I picked... and then If I did find a swatch it was on someone much much fairer then myself...

So I took a chance and bought some of the ones I was iffy about... and some I really like and others are just ok.

But here are swatches on my lips...

These are my bare lips...

top on is brown... bottom one is pink..

You'll see I get brighter application on my bottom lips sometimes.

LOVE!!!!

I got so many compliments...

I also LOVE this one... It's not very Eggplant... even tho it claims to be... but I still like it a lot.

Haven't gotten a chance to really wear this one yet... but I think I like it... It's a little more sheer then is counterparts...

Cute... Just a natural color... probably could be worn over a nude lip.

I felt slightly Nicki Minaj-y in this one... and I like that...

I doubt I could get this one to work for my by itself... I have to play around with it some more.

Yep.... so tacky and pink... I'm in love! Nothing like a good blue-pink.

Super light pink... but I bet with a brown lipliner and a couple of dabs of gloss, I could make this work.

I don't know what to think about this one yet... I like the idea of purple lips... but I think I'm looking for something darker.

Ugh... what a shimmery mess... I like the color but all of the shimmer... My LORD... definitely would have to be paired with something else...

Again... more shimmer... I don't hate the color... but the shimmer throws me.

A brown lipstick... never thought to try it... but I think I might have to give it a whirl...

Sweet Pink Tut ReUploaded... Finally

So I finally reuploaded the "Sweet Pink" tutorial I did back in July..

s/n: I rolled my hair on 6 gray flexi-rods after I straightened my hair...

I wore it straight for a day... but if you keep up with me than you know I don't like my hair straight so much...especially after a fresh relax...

So I rolled it up after doing my nightly M/S

So...today I got a relaxer after 21 weeks post, my last relax was 3.20.2011...

This stretch was ridiculously easy...

I mean it seriously made me consider transitioning...

Anyways...

Me hair is basically the same length as my last length check with the exception of the side layers I have..

They are nearing APL while the tail of my hair hasn't really moved...

I must say the hair is MUCH healthier...

Like MUCH...

It has to have been all the steaming I did while protective styling using braids...

Plus I fell in love with S-Curl...

So yeah here's a pic...

should've cleaned the mirror... but...meh

My dream of reaching WL by my 26th birthday as set by my "One Year To Change My Life" Challenge looks like its going to be a fail...

But I'll be really close...

So I recently (well not that recent and very recent) ordered some things from GirlProps.com/Fabuless.com, and I must say I love the site...

They have trendy, fashion forward pieces as well as really nice classic pieces...

I ordered my first set of things from GirlProps /Fabuless in May... I ordered on a Monday and by Wednesday I had my orders...

So they have super fast shipping...
My most recent purchase took 7 days to arrive...
Probably due to my custom necklace...

I believe they used to actually have a store in NY, but due to the recession were unable to maintain it and closed that location...

Luckily enough, they are still very much alive and well on the internet...

Let me just say I love this custom name necklace...
I it so heavy...like really nice weight to it..

I'm going to do a little review because I scoured the interwebs searching for someone say anything about the quality, construction, and weight of this piece or other custom name necklaces from there and I could find nothing....

I must admit I did expect it to be a little cheaper then what it was...
But it's awesome...

So, If you didn't know my nickname is Star...
So I decided to get this large name plate saying it...

It was 21.99...
6.99 for the first letter and 5 for each additional...
...
I will be getting another smaller one with my proper name on it...

The letters are much like those on lettermen jackets, with engraved insides and embossed outlines..
The back of the letters are lightly textured...
The edges of the letters are smooth, and well rounded as to not scrape skin...
The chain could be a little more substantial but it will support the necklace...
I think it would just look better...
And the piece is handcrafted....

So here are the pro's and con's...so far...

PRO's:
Very large lettering (1 7/8")
Nice heavy weight, not flimsy at all
Nice construction, well put together
You can get up to 9 letters
Smooth edges and backing
Clean lines in lettering
Comes with plenty of chain....

CON's
Can be heavy on neck
Letters can lay weird on the neck
Can't really shorten the chain
The chain could be a little more weighty
Non-Returnable or Exchangeable

With all that said I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I give it a 4/5 only because I can't shorten the chain...
I thought I would be able to...
But it's not really a deal breaker

One Year To Change My Life Challenge

OK...

SO this actually started for me on Monday...

But I'm just getting around to putting up the list...

Here Goes...

and this list may change, as life changes... but it is currently current...

1. Learn how to drive and get a Learner's Permit...

seems small but I'm 25 and have yet to do any of these things...

2. Read the Bible in full...

how can I possibly be able to succeed in life if I don't know the word, and have it in my heart?

3. Start reading books again, for entertainment and to learn...

after college I got so tired of reading, but I NEED to read!!!

4. Lose Weight..

This is a big one...

I weigh about 260 lbs give or take...probably give a lot...

So I HAVE to make a change...

My goal is to lose at least 50lbs in my year... or actually drop below 200lbs...

I plan to start a exercise regimen and stick to it...

Join a gym if possible...

Visit LiveStrong.com daily to help track my daily caloric intake...

Develop healthy eating habits...Maintain happiness while losing weight, try not to starve myself and kill all food joy...Dig down to the bottom of my overeating, Why DO I eat?5. Grow my hair out...Yes I know hair will grow...But I want to keep all of my hair...I need to be able to not trim for longer periods of time...I'm going to be doing the RQR/GHE method at least twice a week...Add more protective styling... up to at least 70% or maybe 80%...More Cowashing, Less Shampoo...UP my M&S... to at least 3x a week...6. Pay off Credit Cards and get my credit back in order...This will take much longer than a year...But I believe with some structure and God on my side I can do this...I would need to pay my credit card bills, and work on developing settlements and payment plans with my creditors...7. Open a saving account, start budgeting, and tithe...I need to save... I need to have money saved...I need to budget... You can buy a lot of things while on a budget...I need to watch where I'm spending my money...He deserves a piece... since it is all His to begin with...8. Start encouraging my creative side and hobbies...I love to find things to do when I'm not busy...So I need to actually do the things I want to do...9. Look for secure new employment...While God is gracious enough to let me work and have a job...I need something better...10. I'm going to be more confident in my abilities...Maybe I should actually start believing what people say about me, and have confidence in what I can do..11. Work on making my Vlog and Blog better, pay more attention to it and treat it like a job...Since I actually do love to vlog and blog, I should stop being lazy and actually make this place work...12. Stop Procrastinating..While I tend to do my best work when I'm in a bunch I need to get away from doing that...I need to be able to have something done in advance... 13. Be more open and available...I feel like the older I get the less I fee like being bothered by the men who cross my path..I need to be open to the idea of stepping outside of my own box and being willing to pursue new things and people...

On June 27th, the day after my 25th birthday I will embark on my "One Year To Change My Life Challenge"...

I will challenge myself to make critical changes in my life to be or be well on my way being a better me...

I would love if you guys would join me in my quest, but for you...

All you have to do is make a list o f things you would like to change in your life and work on them..

It could be a list of one or ten...

You would keep a daily-ish journal to help keep you on track...

As far as the blog is concerned I'll be making weekly/bi weekly entries on here...

Hair Updates...

So I started the Real Queens/Green House Effect Reggie about two weeks ago...And so far I LOVE IT...
My hair is super soft and ultra moisturized...I use my oil mix of Grapeseed, Extra Virgin Coconut, Nutmeg, Lavender, Grapefruit and Tea Tree Oil(s) on my hair...And Castor Oil in my scalp..even though the method is not to put anything on your scalp...I put it on there anyways to keep my ng moisturized and fight an itch scalp...
So today I "cowashed"...I used a Pantene Pro V ampoule for curly hair on my ends, then I covered everything with ORS Replenishing Pak, and let it cook under a heat cap for 2 hrs...
Rinsed and did another short cowash with Pantene Pro V Deep Conditioning Treatment for curly hair...

Funny thing is my hair had a lot of oils and what not on it...So the cowashing took just a little bit of that off...And I blow dried, and flat ironed...My hair super sleek from root to tip..I'm 7 weeks post...
I think I like the RQ/GHE method...I may stick with this for awhile....

I've grown about 12 inches in my 2 year journey... and I've had to cut 5 of those due to setbacks and poor care...

So let's start with the OOTD...One of my friends is graduation soon...So we went looking for a couple of dresses for her upcoming ceremonies...

So I can't quite remember how many homemade bracelets I showed you...But here are the newest ones...

I'm pretty sure you've seen the gold and black ones...

But the neon green, black &white and all white ones are new...

Do you see how the neon green one is giving me life tho?
It is soooooo awesome!

The gold and green are a barrel/circle stitch...

The black and clear one (eventhough you can really see the clear gimp) is a square stitch...

The white one is a triangle stitch...

And the black and white one is a pentagon stitch...

I enjoy making these so much...

They remind me of simpler times...

And help cut down on my stress level...

As you can see the closures are different...

I like the diversity, and I have fun thinking up new ways to end and close these...

And these are awesome!

Those made by the original creator are SOOOO gorgeous that I just had to try...

So I'm obsessed with doing basic lanyard stitches and turning them into jewelry...Yes I know... I'm 25...I've made them using gimp and micro suede cord...
I plan to get some bright colors soon because summer is coming and they will look soo awesome stacked...
--------------------------------------------So Sunday was Easter Sunday/ Resurrection Sunday..Here is my hair and makeup...totally planned on talking pics of my whole outfit... but by the time I got home I didn't feel like it...
The eyes were just simple gold on the lid and brown and black in the crease...I think the gold color is actually Urban Decay's Baked...I used Red Cherry #213 lashes...very natural for church...
And I primed my eyes with Jesse's Girl Eyeshadow Primer (love this stuff...)and NYX Eyeshadow Base in White... (also love...)

And I plan to buy some Gro-Aut oil in combination with that...

So summer is coming... which makes me think of the beach and cool things, awesome clothes and shoes, and wonderful bright, crazy jewelry...
So over the last couple of day I've been making bangle out of "gimp" or Plastic Lace...I've even revamped old bangles that I didn't wear anymore into fresh new bangles for the summer...

DIY Hex Nut Bracelet

So... whilst browsing my blogs I saw that Sugar Rock Cat Walk made and awesome bracelet out of rope and Hex Nuts....

The original (pictured above) is by Giles & Brother...they have awesome jewelry btw...
She got the idea from Honestly...WTF, an awesome blog for Fashion Frills and D.I.Y's....

So I went over to wal-mart, grabbed some micro suede cord, and some hex nuts and tried my hand...
It is easy to do... even tho it is a little hard to get the full idea of it... at first...

Here's mine... I added a little circle clasp at the end... I'm still deciding if I like it...and some feather charms for a little flair...

So, It's official... I have enough lashes to last me forever....
So my Madame Madeline package arrived today...And my all my lashes are here... YAY!

So... I ordered quite a few pairs of eyelashes from EEyelash and Madame Madeline on Monday morning... and I got the first set of lashes from EEyelash today...
I bought 4 sets of lashes..which is 12 pairs... and some dark duo glue (since I'd been meaning to try that...)For the shipping and handling all together I spent 37 dollars... which I think is good considering the Ardell & Andrea brand in Wal-Mart are something like 4 dollars a pair....
So far after looking at the lashes they look really good...The hairs are a little thin compared to brands like Ardell, but for the price 3p @5.95... I really can't complain...
They also have a thinner band on the lash which may or may not be a good thing for me...We'll see...
Oh and they run long, the "short" lashes are the same length or longer then my dramatic lashes from Ardell...The medium are gorgeous and just extra...LOVE!
So, extra short is normal. short are semi-long, medium are long, and long are really long....
As you may or may not have read I threw out all of my old lashes, cause they were worn and glued and just needed to find rest in eyelash heaven....
So I'm waiting for my lashes from Madame Madeline to come... what I got:#747M-Black#704- Black#103- Black#705- Black
all the human hair lashes have a counterpart in brown for the those ladies with lighter lashes and or ladies who like to rock bright mascaras and need a lighter base lash....

But so far I'm impressed with EEyelash... I have to see how they wear, and look on... but yeah so far I'm super excited....

I must say I LOVE my Coastal Scents Palettes...

Especially Creative Me #1... because of all the mattes...

But Creative Me #2 holds it own... on those days when I want to shimmer...

This palette has wonderfully pigmented matte colors...

Even the yellow is well pigmented.. not the best but really nice...

You know Jesse's Girl sends you a whole boatload of samples...

I really haven't gotten a real chance to play in this...

I've used the buki brushes- I like them...

My face buki sheds a lot... but then again I only paid like 8 dollars for the set...

This base is quickly becoming one of my favorites...

It is very white, but it does keep the eyeshadow in place, and bold...

Just mascara...

I bought Rough Flambe because I saw it was a type of shimmery true-er red...

And I wanted a nice shimmery red...

I have no idea why I got the Eye Lites except for the fact that they were on sale..

I'm still trying to figure out if I can use them...

My tokidoki Brush set is awesome...

The crease brush works wonders...

It's a dome, which is different from my other crease brushes...

All the brushes pick up good color..

Yeah, this is the 36pc Smokey Palette from Coastal Scents...

Some of the colors are outrageously gorgeous and pigmented while others are not so much...

You're supposed to use the set of 6 together to create smokey looks which I have yet to do...

Master Cleanse Wrap-Up

So yesterday would have been the last day of my master cleanse...

But as you know I only lasted 6 days...instead of 10....

I lost 16 lbs while on it...

But like most liquid diets the weight doesn't stay off once you start eating real food again...

Also... my colon is CLEAN...

I don't know if that's an overshare... but it makes me happy to know that...

So it's more like 9 lbs that were actually lost...

So today I weight 260lbs...

I enjoyed the Master Cleanse....

And I wish I could have continued....

I more then likely will try it again...

With better planning...

Today started off like the rest of my days .....
Except I couldn't bring myself to drink the "lemonade"..
It tasted and smelled like puke to me....

So I decided to go ahead and cut my master cleansr short...
I lasted almost 6 days...
I lost a total of 16 lbs on the cleanse...
Maybe more but I won't know until my period is over...
I actually think I lost a little over 20...

So I had some grapefruit juice and a few goldfidh crackers....
I dont knoe if that was a good idea...
I felt really sick...

and well...It was New Years...

We had a minor rolling with us... cause we were under the assumption that the club was *sigh* 18 and older... *shudders*...

But it wasn't so we couldn't get in cause of the youngin'...

So we dropped her off and went on to AC...

It was fun...

We got there around 4...

And we walked the casinos, my friends gambled a little bit...

Got approached by some interesting men...

Walked some more...

Waited like a year to get something to eat in Caesars...

We left around 8ish...

The sun was just coming up it was gorgeous!

Especially across the water...

We we worn...

I wetset my hair my last wash day... and the curls lasted forever...

If I hadn't decided to sleep on them a few nights ago, because I planned to wash...

They probably would still be intact...

I do feel a little tired/ lightheaded when I'm not regularly drinking the "lemonade"...

So I guess I have to work on actually drinking it in scheduled intervals, so the lightheaded-ness doesn't settle in...

Also I've decided to incorporate more water into my cleanse...
Maybe drinking a liter and a half of lemonade...
and about a half liter of water to make up my 3 quart daily intake...

So today was the first day of my master cleanse...

By the end of the day I'll will drink nearly a gallon of "Lemonade"...

My initial reaction to it is a good one...

I mean I really don't hate the taste... And it can be better depending on how much maple syrup you put in it...

I'm sure I'll wake up feeling lighter and being lighter...

It sure was hard watching my coworkers eat M&M's, Pretzels, Twix Bars, Doritos and the like...

But I guess I'm determined to at least get someway into this cleanse... lol! at least being 3-4 days...

But I figure once I hit day 4, it'll be a bit breezy...

I intend to lose about 20 lbs... while doing this cleanse...

My starting weight is a ghastly 269 lbs...

OUTRAGEOUS!

Holiday weight is a female dog....

So hopefully I'll be back in the 50's....

then I can start a nice well balanced zig-zag diet... and a decent workout reg.

I think I'll like a zig-zag/liquid diet... And I know effective workout techniques...

I'm just lazy...

I want to get on the scale now to see... *runs downstairs*

Wacky Cake- Lemony-Goodness

If you have heard of a wacky cake, then you know that it is traditionally chocolate...

But one day not too long ago I had run out of cocoa abd still wanted to make the cake...

So instead of the cocoa, I added lemon juice...

And it was great...

So here is the traditional "Wacky Cake" recipe... the red is what I do instead...

WACKY CAKE

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
~~1/4 cup cocoa~~ (1/4 cup lemon juice)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla & 1/4 tsp lemon extract & 1/4 tsp orange extract
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable, peanut or light olive oil
1 cup cold water, milk or chocolate milk

Preheat oven to 350°F.

This cake is so easy and fun to make that you'll be tempted to save on dishes by preparing it in a disposable 8 or 9 inch square pan.

There are no mixing bowls to worry about, since the cake is mixed directly in the pan so that you can make it more often.

Grease the pan well with Crisco or vegetable shortening.

Measure the flour, sugar, ~~cocoa~~ and salt and baking soda into the pan. Using a fork or whisk, stir all ingredients until no streaks remain and everything is well combined.

Scoop out four holes or valleys in the flour mixture. Pour the vinegar into the first hole; the vanilla, lemon extract, & orange extract into the second hole, lemon juice into the third hole and the oil into the fourth.

Pour the water or milk over everything and stir with a fork or whisk until everything is well blended. Don't forget the corners of the pan and the edges!

Bake 35-40 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and cut into squares. Serve while still warm with ice cream or Cool Whip.

This cake is as quick and simple to prepare as a mix, but much more economical and without the long list of chemical ingredients.

I make the cake the exact same way but instead I substitute lemon juice for cocoa powder, and add lemon and orange extract.

Here is a warning tho... this cake doesn't have eggs a traditional leavening agent... So it doesn't have that same fluffy texture that one gets when using eggs...
The cake is a little more fudgey...Which is probably the reason it is traditionally chocolate...

I like this cake tho...
It is especially good in Chocolate...

So I would suggest you try that one first before even beginning to try my adaptation...

I also made some cake gravy... I mean frosting...

Here is how...

I start by melting 2.5 tbsp of magarine (or butter.. butter is better) over low heat setting...

after the margarine is melted, I measured out 1/3 c of evaporated milk and added it to the margarine...

Wisk it together, the margarine is going to float regardless of what you do... still over a low heat setting...

Turn off flame, briefly...add flavoring, 2 tbsp of lemon juice, 1/2 tsp of lemon extract, 1/2 tsp of vanilla, and 1/4 cup of sugar...

To bind the frosting.. bring base up to medium heat setting and add 1 tbsp of flour... and let cook for about 3 minutes or until flour taste is gone...

Add water to create desired thickness...Turn off heat...

All done...

Tart, Sweet and Smooth frosting/glaze for your cake...

Think I'll start cooking for y'all more often...

I've been away for a while, mostly because I've been working a lot, and secondly my camera was on life support...

But luckily, I was blessed enough to have a little bit of extra funds in my check to buy a new one...

So yea, yesterday was Halloween...

I went as a Rockstar/Rihanna (if you ask my father...)

but mostly just a rockstar...

I used my Mehron Pastel Palette for the pink section of my face, covered that with Ben Nye's Azalea, outlined it with my Milani Blackened Teal Double Ended liner.

For the eyes I used Ben Nye's Ice (lid), Amethyst,(crease) Cosmic Blue (crease), Iced Gold (highlight) and Urban Decay's Perversion (cut crease).

Cheeks are BN Azalea (right), and BN Cosmic Blue & Amethyst (left)

My lips were outlined in black and then filled in with Maybelline's Wine and roses...

but then I ate... and the lips were gone...

I've just come to the realization that I should lose some of this...

I mean as far a doctor sees it... I am morbidly.....morbidly obese...

I am 100+lbs over what they think I should be...

And I guess the world will see me as such as well....

So I think I'm going to start to really try to work towards bringing it down...

I never want to be skinny...

I know that's not going to be a good look for me...

But something has to change...

Because for the most part...

When I'm not losing I'm gaining...

And sooner or later I'll be tipping the scale at 300lbs... and that's just somewhere I don't want to be...

Yeah, SO I'm FAT...

Generally, I like to stay out of the huge issues...

My opinions are my own... and I like that...

I tend not argue ppl down... trying to get them to agree with me because we as human beings are all entitled to think they way we want...

So today I stumbled across this video...

A Warning To White Women

And basically she is "warning" white women against the dangers of a certain group of black men to which she has named the "BBD Crew" which stands for Broke Busted and Disgusted...

No while watching this video I couldn't help but find some of her points interesting....and dare I say valid...

But I wouldn't dareas to go as far as to limit this "BBD Crew" to the black race...

I KNOW there are plenty of men who just are no good...

Now let's pretend like lots of men read my blog for a minute...

I know that the "BBD Crew" can and does refer to women as well... of all races....

So after watching that video...

I was led to other video discussing the plight of the single black female...

Why we are single...
What our flaws are...

We are too demanding, overbearing, confrontational, ignorant, unwilling, unmoving and insubordinate...
We are too loose, we are evil, we are materialistic...the list goes on...

As well as more videos talking about why black men are no good.

Why black men have turned away from black women...

Why black men have no desire or interest in finding a black woman...

They hate their mothers, they feel superior to black women, they have been brainwashed by the euro-centric concepts of our world, they are weak and unable to handle a strong black woman...the list continues...

In one video I watched the young man when as far as to say that the reason he can no longer tolerate black women is because we are loose, that all we want is sex... that we want to dominate the relationship and that we are essentially the devil, or demons as he put it....

You know all this debate disheartens me, as a black woman who is readily seeking an intelligent black male, who is worth my submission. Looking at the videos, makes me start to feel a as tho it will be pretty close to impossible to overcome the odds of finding someone who I believe to be one my level...

No, not someone with lots of money, and fast car...

Someone who is honest, loyal, educated, intelligent, god-fearing and interesting...

I just can't believe how easily we as human beings generalize each other...

We really need to stop putting each other in boxes...

Remeber I said I was going to be stretching my relaxers to 6 months...

Well...yeah... that's not going to happen...

Maybe thats a venture for the winter months when my hair isn't growing like crazy...

So yeah...I'm not even going to wait the three weeks I had planned...

My hair probably will be relaxed in the next two weeks at 15/16 weeks post...

I was supposed to wait until October 1st... but it looks highly unlikely...seeing as I can't comb my hair...

So yeah...

My last relax was May 31st... and it's been 3.5 months...

And my naps/kinks/coils...are out of control...

I'll try my extended stretch in the fall... maybe that'll work...

So I went to see Takers yesterday...

That movie was fun...

So I wore basic Black and White...

And I rocked... dare I say... capri's...LOL!

I faux-bobbed my hair...

And threw on some random accessories and went on about my day...

So here...

Ok... SO I HATE HATE HATE MY NEW FLAT IRON....

Anyways...

Like I said last night...

Today was my wash day after taking out my Senegalese twists...

I had them in for approximately 6 weeks...

And my hair had grown about 3/4 of and inch in that time...

The kinks was poppin'...

Look..

I had redone the front a couple of times to keep them looking "fresh"-ish...

Yeah... So I decided to take them out on Monday...

which mean I wore my hair like this to work on Tuesday...

Ha! I know...

Crazy... but there is no shame in my game...

Me and my mother spent Tuesday night de-tangling and removing all the shed hair so that I could wash today...

I went through a lot of steps...

Last night after combing out all the excess hair I conditioned over night with Yes To Tomatoes Daily Moisturizing Conditioner...

I rinsed that out this morning and followed it by washing with Dr. Bronners All-In-One Lavender Shikakai Castile Soap...

I did a rinse using Dr. Bronner's Conditioning Rinse in Citrus...

Then I used Garnier Fructis 3-Minute Undo...

Rinsed and put in Smooth and Silky 60-Second Critical Repair Conditioning Treatment...

Finally did my tea rinse with ORS Replenishing Condish...

Yeah...

Too much...

I know..

I went overboard...

Anyways...Then I did a rough blow dry to about 80% dry using my fingers to comb...
I let my hair air-dry the rest of the way...

And then I used my crap-tastic new flatiron to straighten my hair...

I thought I hated it when I first got it...

But now I know I hate it...

I mean it does give your hair really silky and soft feeling...

And shine...can't forget about shine...

But for me...

I just doesn't get it that straight...

I think I'm going to sanitize it and throw it into my upcoming contest and/or giveaway...

Anyways...

And then my hair immediately started to frizz...

So the length shot is crazy... and not quite as accurate as I'd like... but who cares...

I should have just used my old busted flat iron...

My ends look a little shot...
I don't think this is the case but we shall see soon enough...

I also went ahead a did the lines for goal purposes...

I took out my senegalese twists on Monday...

I de-tangled today...and it was a mess!

Glad my mom could help...

Anyways...

I have a little....well a lot of Yes to Carrots Conditioner slathered on my head...

Then I wrapped my whole head with saran wrap...

I do all my washing and more conditioning tomorrow...

And I'll post pics...

I'll tell you this... if my ends don't look right...I will be getting a trim...or a CUT...

depending on how I feel...

So tomorrow I'll be washing with my castile soap...after I rinse out my conditioner...

Then I'll be doing a black tea rinse...Followed by more conditoner...

Rinse..I might do a little hot oil... Using EVOO and Grapeseed Oil...

Probably not...

Then a light protein...

And then I'll do a DC...with ORS Replenishing Condish...

Sounds like a lot... it is...

So I'm off today...

I was going to do a couple of things like...

Play dress up and take pictures of it...

And do makeup...and take pictures...

The only thing I actually did was do one eye...and slap on some gloss...

But I do have some random pics from when I wen to the harbor...

So me and my friends took a tour...

And we found this duck who like sunflower seeds...

I hope he's ok...

I don't know the effect sunflower seeds have on ducks...

He actually cracked the shells under water and ate the seeds...

It's been a hot minute since I did one of these...

Any ways...

I went to the early service at church today...

I had to work after wards...so yeah...

So I wore this strapless maxi to church...

I put a little cardi on too...

I love this dress... especially when in natural light...the colors pop so much better...

Lol... I really don't care if ppl think I'm too big to rock a animal print dress...

Anyways I had fun...

I put on some regualr old brown shoes and rocked out...

hello lovers...

So I was off today...

So I recorded some videos...

Which I'm too lazy to edit today... but whatever...

Anyways.

I did a little makeup...

And here it is...

I used Electric by Ulta as the main purple color (inner and outer corner)... the green is Absinthe by Urban Decay (middle of lid)... The inner-inner corner has some Techno by Hard Candy...I have a little bit of Urban Decay's Perversion & Ben Nye's Amethyst in the outer crease... The lower lash line is Nyx's Morocco and the highlight is my trusted Butterscotch by Hard Candy.

LOL!

I caught that guy who wanted to date me, staring at me the other day...

I don't know whats happening but I'm staring to attract men left and right...

I'm not necessarily used to this...

Anyways...

I did my hair for the summer...

You already know...

Senegalese Twists on lock!

They are really good for me cause my hair tend to grow like a weed in the summer...

So to keep a firm handle on my new growth I put in my twists...

They took about 10 hrs. to do this time...

And they are a little smaller and a lot neater then usual...

Every time I do them I get better...

I guess practice actually does make perfect or should I say better....

LOL!

And I made them a little longer then waist length...

They are probably closer to hip length

And I have to start working on the middle again...

I have to force myself to start doing my stretches and crunches again...

So I've been doing a light M&S nightly/ every other night...
Been using a little alcohol free mousse to control my fly aways...
Since I don't cut and singe them off like most braiders...
Wrap with a scarf...
And when I shower I put the hair up into a big bun and let my hair steam for about 10-15 minutes...

Anyways I'm going to do care on them tomorrow...
Wash with my oil soap...
Lightly condition...and then deep condition...
Follow with a little mousse...
And re-install/ tighten any I'm not happy with...

Currently I'm 8 weeks post...
My relaxer is set for the 1st of October...
So have about another 8-9 weeks left before I relax..
Hopefully I'll be grazing BSL!
Or at least working towards full APL...

I'm expecting to be BSL for Christmas... but I'll be happy if I get there early 2011 too...

Lately, I've wondering that a lot about my college experience...

I mean would I be in the same situation if I didn't go...

Well I wouldn't have ppl harassing me about they money...

But I also wouldn't have such great friends...

So I got a call from some lady...

She works for Chase Student Loans Recovery Somethingorother...

NEVER get a loan from them...

So she's like I'm going to need you to pay this loan off...

And I'm like...

Well I do have a p/t job...

Can we get some type of payment plan happening?

She's all like ...um no... I'm going to need it all...

I laughed...

Impossible...

52 G's?

She was like well maybe we can settle it down to about 35 for you...

She was like you're going to need to get someone to get a loan for you...

I told her... most of the ppl I know have worse credit then me...

How am I going to ask them to take out a loan for 35 grand for me...

Bill Collectors...

God is NOT pleased, with all the greed...

I'm fitna just take this to court...

Stand in front of the judge, speak my piece...

And have him tell the big greedy bank to shove it...

And put me on a payment plan I can afford...

This is really pissing me off...

But For some reason...

I feel like it's happening for a reason...

I would love just a little insight..

What kind of waist definition I should have...

What kind of jean cut would look best on me...

How to avoid looking bottom heavy...

And all I have to say is...

I like the clothes I wear...

If I want to squeeze my anti-skinny body into a skinny jean I shall do so...

And be happy about it...

If I want to totally disregard my waist (which is hard to do...cause as you can see my hips are wide as hell)...

I will do so and be happy about it...

If I look bottom heavy...

Ikea Idea...

So my room is a mess...

As you can see in every one of my pictures...

No shame in my game...

So I decided to got to Ikea to look at some inexpensive solutions to the clothing explosion in my room...

I have a chest of drawers that is older then me...

That was supposed to see the inside of a junk yard some 5+ years ago (well if you ask me)...

The chest is empty...I don't use it...instead I cram all my things into storage bins...

Which I sometimes decide to go thru and neatly fold...

But as soon as I need something I wreck it...

So I need something to put my crap in...

So I can try to maintain at least a half-way decent sty...

My outfit started out with this peachy cami and the bermuda shorts..

It has a structured waistband so it really pops the curves...

But the stupid straps are too long...

And my boobs were out (like really out...)

So I ended up wearing some wonderfully muted greens and browns...

And I actually put on a necklace and bracelets like a grown up...

As you may or may not have noticed I generally don't wear either of the two...

I like the look of my neck bare...And bracelets are generally the last thing on my mind...

So me and my friends took a trip to Philadelphia to see some of our/my college buddies...

And I was going for a casual chic look...

So I rocked simple black and gray...

My skinny-ish leg jeans...My gray flowy vest thing... and a simple black cami...

Also I took (not wore...but I am wearing them in the photos) my new Kelly & Katie satin peep-toe platform slingbacks that I got from DSW for 18 dollars...Since they are getting their boots in for fall lots of shoes are going on super sale... Check your local stores for supersavings...

LOL! Did I sound like a commercial?

I actually wore red slingback flats with this look...

And yes I had not a stitch of red on except for my shoes...

And it was awesome...

Anyway...

Eyebrow Maintenance...

Ok so no one asked me how I do my eyebrows...

I just feel like sharing...

So just to start I can tell you I use a combo of threading and tweezing...

I usually start with the thread and really clean up the shape of my eyebrows...

I also use the thread to get those baby fine hairs that the tweezers can't...

then I use tweezers to get those hairs that are really close together...(so I won't make a mistake and thread a dash in my eyebrow...)

Here is a before and after shot...

I know you probably can't see it that well but in the after shot all the skin under my brow is clean and supple...

hairless...all those tiny hairs didn't survive...

So after I do that I usually trim my eyebrows... but I can't find my little scissors so I haven't done that in a while...

Lastly I take some conditioner...yes the kind for my hair and slather (a small amount) just enough for the brow on my brow and surrounding area...I then take a little mascara brush and brush them thru..

Finally I let that dry...which usually takes about 10-15 minutes...
Wash it off...

Then viola...

I get manageable and groomed eyebrows like this...
